(Perennial)
WITH ITS classic taste and fragrance, Common Thyme is a mainstay herb in a wide range of cuisines, and particularly in French cooking. This is a deliciously versatile variety that enhances the flavour of meats, soups, and casseroles.
Planting
Plant in beds or containers, in well-drained soil or compost, in full sun.
Care
Keep well watered until established, and then only when the soil feels dry.
Height & Spread:
15 – 30cm × 20 – 30cm.
Harvesting
Harvest leaves using scissors or fingertips, ideally in the morning when the aromatic oils are most potent. Frequent harvesting encourages bushy growth, but avoid taking more than a third of the plant at a time to ensure continuous growth.
