WITH ITS classic taste and fragrance, Common Thyme is a mainstay herb in a wide range of cuisines
(Perennial)

A bushy dwarf evergreen shrub growing up to 30cm tall and 40cm spread. It has small green leaves and produces tiny purple flowers through the summer which butterflies and bees adore. Suitable for growing in a container, herb garden or front of a border. An extremely versatile herb, it can be used to flavour stuffings, poultry, lamb, fish and is of course a main ingredient in bouquet garni.

Planting
Plant in beds or containers, in well-drained soil or compost, in full sun.

Care
Keep well watered until established, and then only when the soil feels dry.

Height & Spread:
15 – 30cm × 20 – 30cm.

Harvesting
Harvest leaves using scissors or fingertips, ideally in the morning when the aromatic oils are most potent. Frequent harvesting encourages bushy growth, but avoid taking more than a third of the plant at a time to ensure continuous growth.
