A dense spreading evergreen shrub, will grow to a height of about 1m with arching branches bearing short, fragrant evergreen needle like leaves and small bright blue flowers, ideal for cascading down walls. Renowned as an essential culinary and medicinal herb, originally from the Mediterranean region its good with vegetables, tomatoes, meat, fish and pasta dishes.
Planting
Plant in beds or containers, in well-drained soil or compost, in sun or partial shade.
Care
Keep well watered until established, and then only when the soil feels dry.
Height & Spread:
60 – 80cm × 60 – 100cm.
Harvesting
Snip sprigs using scissors or fingertips, ideally in the morning when the aromatic oils are most potent. Prune regularly to encourage bushy growth but avoid cutting into the woody parts of the plant.
