A DELIGHT to grow, this offers both ornamental beauty and culinary zest. In herbal teas and salads, its lemony aroma and flavour add a fabulously refreshing accent. It’s also known as Bee Balm.
Planting
Plant in beds or containers, in well-drained soil or compost, in full sun or partial shade.
Care
Water well until established and in dry weather. Keep an eye out for powdery mildew and protect from slugs and snails.
Height & Spread:
60 – 90cm × 30 – 60cm.
Harvesting
Harvest the leaves and flower tops by snipping them withscissors, ideally in the morning
when the aromatic oils are most potent. Avoid harvesting more than a third of the plant at one time.
