THE DEEP PURPLE flowers and silver-green foliage of this strikingly elegant variety make it ideal for aromatic oils
Category: Herbs
(Perennial)
A bushy dwarf evergreen with narrow silvery-grey leaves and small deep violet flowers which appear from mid to late summer and remain attractive all year round. A wonderful shrub, perfectly suited to UK gardens, making them easy to grow and a popular alternative to Box hedging. Lavender honey is produced by busy bees, who love the pollen and the flowers can be use in baking - ice cream, cakes and biscuits.
Planting
Plant in beds or containers, in well-drained soil or compost, in full sun.
Care
Water regularly until established, then only as needed, as Lavenders are drought-tolerant. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage dense growth.
Height & Spread:
40 – 50cm × 50 – 60cm.
Harvesting
Harvest flowers and leaves using scissors, best done in the morning when the essential oils are at their most concentrated. Avoid cutting into old wood to prevent damage to the plant.
