Invitation
Invitation Swede
A hardy, vigorous swede that’s resistant to Clubroot and powdery mildew! Produces globe-shaped, medium-sized roots with striking purple-topped skin and sweet yellow flesh — perfect for roasting, mashing, or adding to hearty winter stews.
Harvest
August to spring — lift when roots are firm, or leave in the ground over winter to extend your harvest.
Growing Instructions
• Planting: Space 30cm apart in firm, well-drained soil.
• Watering: Keep well watered until established and during dry spells to avoid splitting and woody skins.
• Harvesting: Lift and use within a week for best flavour.
Top Tips
• Overwintering: Leave swedes in the ground to enjoy fresh roots well into winter.
• Soil Care: Firm, well-drained soil prevents split and tough skins.
• Flavour: Harvest promptly for sweet, tender flesh.
• Spacing: Give each plant room to grow for the largest, best-shaped roots.
