Giant Exhibition Broad Beans

A show-stopper by name and by nature! Giants Exhibition is a bold, reliable variety that produces extra-long pods packed with up to 10 plump, creamy white beans each. With superb flavour and incredibly heavy yields, this is one of the longest-pod varieties you can grow — perfect for anyone who loves big harvests and big taste!

Harvest

Around 12 weeks after planting, once the beans inside the pods have swollen. Start picking from the bottom of the plant upwards for the freshest pods.

Growing Instructions

Planting: Space plants 30cm apart in well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered position.
Support: Use pea sticks, trellis, or twigs to support plants as they grow taller.
Watering: Keep well watered until established and during dry spells to maintain pod quality.
Pest Control: Once the first beans are picked, pinch out the growing tips to deter blackfly.

Top Tips

Succession Planting: Plant every 4 weeks for a steady supply through the season.
Sweetest Beans: Pick pods while the beans are still pale and tender for the best flavour.
Freezer Friendly: Broad beans freeze exceptionally well — blanch and bag them for year-round use.
