F1 Harvest Moon
SKU
210RV9C
Description
A very reliable and easy growing variety, semi-trailing, producing good sized deep orange round heads perfect for carving at Halloween (they are also good to eat too!)
Harvest
August to November. Once the vine starts to shrink and the shell has hardened.
Growing Instructions
You can grow pumpkins in containers, grow bags or in well drained soil in a sheltered but sunny position. Plants 45-60cm apart - be prepared to give it space, a good position is along a sunny fence. Keep them well watered until established and in dry weather. They do like to be kept moist but not wet! You will need to train the plant as it grows because it will literally take over everything if it has the chance. Feed once the fruit appears. Pumpkins like sunshine so move any leaves that are blocking them. Place the pumpkins on a tile or glass to stop them going mouldy. If you want bigger pumpkins, choose 1 or 2 pumpkins to keep off one plant and pick the rest off, this will allow all the nutrients to go to those few and make them bigger.
Tip
Never pick up a pumpkin at the growing tip as it may break and go mouldy.
