Description
Edamame Green Shell is a relatively new variety to the UK and is widely used in restaurants and is a delicacy in Japan. Producing early crops of up to 3 commonly known as soya beans per hairy pod with a creamy slight nutty taste. The pods are not normally eaten. These can be boiled steamed or grilled within the pod, then once cooled they can be popped to retrieve the beans from within.
Harvest
From June onwards, once you feel the plump beans inside of the pods.
Growing Instructions
Carefully position the plants 45cm apart, in well drained soil in full sun. Keep well watered until established and in dry weather. Water well once the flowers appear and may need some support if they get a bit heavy.
