Harvest

From June onwards — pick when pods are 10–15cm long, before the beans inside fully form.

Growing Instructions

Planting: Space plants 25cm apart, indoors or outdoors.
Support: Grow up canes, trellis, or netting in well-drained soil with full sun.
Watering: Keep soil moist until established and during dry spells; water well once flowers appear.

Top Tips

Alternative Supports: Use sweetcorn instead of canes — it attracts beneficial insects and adds height.

Sun & Soil: Full sun and well-drained soil give the best pods.
Pest Watch: Sweetcorn can help ward off leaf hoppers naturally.
