Three Chilli plants (207-240-222)
Categories: Pepper - Chilli, Pepper - Chilli
One pot of each of the below.
Jalapeno
Probably the most popular of the chillies, producing pods of 3-4cm long and 2cm thick, ripening from green to red, with a medium-strong heat.
Hot Thai
This compact easy to grow chilli plant is perfect for a windowsill or patio. Producing a mass of small 2cm long, green chillies maturing from green to bright red with a medium heat. Excellent variety for drying or for chilli powder.
Fresno
A slightly larger version than Jalapeno producing pods that are roughly 5cm long and 2cm wide. Dark green variety which turns red as it matures, with a mild heat. Perfect for pickling!
Growing Instructions
Plant 45cm apart in a sunny but sheltered position in well drained soil. They prefer to be in a greenhouse but can be grown in a pot in a conservatory or in a sunny spot on the patio but you will not get much of a crop outside. Chillies like water. Keep them well watered until established and in dry weather (but not soggy). If we have an intensely hot summer (which is rare I know) you will need to give them some shade to protect their delicate leaves. Once they reach roughly 30cm they may need staking for support as the chillies start to grow. Feed them once you see at least 2 or 3 chillies growing NOT before.
