Cucumber Mix 2
One pot of each variety
Deli Star
A real workhorse! Deli Star produces medium-sized (16–18 cm), crunchy cucumbers with thin skins and fantastic flavour. All-female variety—no cross-pollination needed—making it perfect for indoor or outdoor growing.
Pepinex
Bred for the English climate, Pepinex thrives even in cooler summers, though it can grow quite large in hot weather. Long, dark green, thin-skinned cucumbers with subtle ribs and excellent taste—bitter-free and all-female, so no cross-pollination required. Performs best in a greenhouse, though outdoor planting after May/June works too.
Mini Munch
Snack-size and full of flavour! Mini Munch is a compact indoor variety producing big yields of small, crisp cucumbers perfect for eating straight from the plant. All-female, so no cross-pollination needed. Great for snacking or adding fresh crunch to salads.
Growing Instructions
-
Spacing & Position: Plant 45 cm apart in well-prepared soil, in a sunny, sheltered spot above 16 °C once all frosts have finished.
-
Watering: Keep well-watered until established, and during dry weather.
-
Training: Can grow along the floor, but a trellis, fence, stake, wire, or string keeps plants tidy, disease-free, and helps cucumbers grow straight. Train plants clockwise up a string, removing side shoots and flowers up to 30 cm, then only remove side shoots as the plant climbs.
-
Maintenance: Pick off yellow or dead leaves along the way.
-
Feeding: Only start feeding once the first two cucumbers appear—not before!
