Squash Mix
One pot of each variety
F1 Crown Prince
A stunning grey-blue squash with bright orange flesh! Round and flat, each fruit weighs 3–4 kg and boasts a sweet, rich, nutty flavour. Perfect for long-term storage, it makes a bold and beautiful addition to any garden.
Mini Squash – Sunbeam
Tiny but tasty! Sunbeam produces a mass of bright yellow mini squashes in fun flat-lantern or flying-saucer shapes. Firmer than a courgette, they’re perfect for pickling or cooking. Easy to grow and a cheerful addition to patios, flower beds, or vegetable patches.
Butternut Squash – Hunter
A vigorous plant that rewards your efforts with early-maturing, high yields of sweet, deep-orange butternut squash. Small seed cavity means little waste, and the fruits store well. Needs some space and training, but the results are worth it!
Growing Instructions
-
Spacing & Position:
-
F1 Crown Prince & Butternut Hunter: Plant 100 cm apart in well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered spot.
-
Sunbeam Mini Squash: Plant 90 cm apart in a sunny, sheltered spot.
-
-
Watering: Keep well-watered until established and during dry spells. Avoid soggy soil.
-
Training & Support: Squashes take up space—ideal along a wall, fence, trellis, or even a compost heap. Support heavy fruits with a net if needed. Once plants have 5–7 leaves, pinch the tips to encourage fruit growth.
-
Feeding: Only feed once 2 or more fruits are developing—not before.
-
Harvesting: Enjoy when mature for the best flavour and storage potential.
