Description
An all-round reliable old favourite. Green oval to flat pods with great flavour. Pick the pods young or you can leave the beans to mature to a darkish red/maroon colour and use them as kidney beans.
Harvest
From June onwards, once the pods reach about 10-15cm long, before you see the bean forming inside. For kidney beans, pick the pods when they start to turn yellow, shell them and leave overnight and they will turn the traditional kidney bean colour. These can be frozen and kept unit needed. For dried beans, the pods can be left on the plant and dried out naturally and stored in airtight containers.
Growing Instructions
Carefully position the plants 15cm apart, in well drained soil in full sun. Keep well watered until established and in dry weather. Water well once the flowers appear.
