Growing Instructions
Plant your patio tree in a container with at least 30 litres of good quality compost, such as John Innes No.3. If you plan to plant directly into soil, ensure it is rich fertile, well drained and in a sheltered sunny position. Plant trees at their original soil depth and water well. They will benefit from a south facing position as this will provide the spring flowers with protection from frost.

During the growing season it is important to feed and water regularly. Fruit and nut trees will suffer if competing with weeds, so it is important to keep surrounding area as weed free as possible. A 30cm area around the base of the tree should be kept weed free and if growing in the ground free from grass.
Moving the container to a cool but bright frost-free position and keeping the compost just moist in the autumn will improve fruiting.
In spring, top dress the container with a slow release fruit fertiliser and if growing in the ground apply to the base of the tree a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost after removing any suckers that have established. This will improve moisture retention through the summer.
Blossom is susceptible to frost so the tree may benefit from protection with a layer of horticultural fleece if outside.

Tip
To avoid bacterial infection only prune peach trees in the summer and only to remove damaged or diseased wood.
